John C. Watkevitch of Salem, NH died Tuesday at the Beth Isreal Deaconness Hospital in Boston, MA. He was 66 years old. He had been a Salem resident for the past 42 years, previously of Lawrence, MA.
He was born in Lawrence, MA where he grew up and was educated. He graduated from Essex Agricultural School in Danvers, MA in 1956. Mr. Watkevitch was the Director of Facilities for the Salem School Department. He was previously employed at Wang Labs in Lowell, MA and Allied Stores in Peabody, MA.
Mr. Watkevitch was a member of the Arlington Club and the Rocky Club in Lawrence, MA and a past member of the Salem Knights of Columbus. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Church in Windham, NH.
He was an avid golfer, loved gardening and most of all he loved his family.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Matthew’s Church, Friday at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem, NH.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 3-5PM & 7-9PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
