Kenneth Leo Mercier 54, of Philadelphia Pa. went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Portland Maine. He fought a brave and dignified battle with lung cancer.
Kenny was born, August 24, 1961 in Nashua NH. The son of Francis and Jeanne (Dupont) Mercier and brother-in-law,Frederick Murch, who predeceased him. He is survived by his son Jared and daughter-in-law Molly Mercier and their two children, Amelia and Marlo Mercier of Los Angeles Ca. His son Zachary Mercier of Portland Maine. A sister Kim (Mercier) Murch of Bridgton, Maine, a brother Michael of Gorham, Maine and a sister Mary (Mercier) Whitaker of Fryeburg, Maine. Nieces and nephews, Taylor, Shelby and Lindsay Murch. Parker (Cook) Mercier, Eric, David, Peter and Mason Whitaker. And great-niece Adelyn Doty.
He grew up in Amherst NH. Kenny was self employed in construction his whole life. He was gifted with knowledge and skills that allowed him to build beautiful and unique custom homes. He and his son Zach worked together for many years.
Ken was an avid skier and sportsman. He enjoyed watching the NE Patriots, Boston Bruins. He loved the outdoors. He attended Burke Mountain ski racing Academy.
His greatest love was spending time with his children and grand-children.
At Kenny's request, there will be no funeral service. Internment will be when his family will all be together.
