Louisa (Pereira) Camara, age 87, of Dighton passed away on February 13, 2016 at home surround by her family. She was the wife of the late João Agostinho Camara. Born in Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late João and Mariana (Barbosa) Pereira and sister of the late João Pereira. Louisa was a homemaker and devoted catholic that loved spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her five children: Lourdes Dias, Edward Camara and his wife Nancy, Joseph Camara and his wife Wanda, Bertha Costa and her husband Joseph, and Louise Cabral and her husband Victor. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her two loving caretakers Manuela DaCamara and Isabel Cordeiro.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael’s Church at 10 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Tuesday from 5-8 P.M.
