WEBSTER – Sophie B. (Knych) Saucier, 95, formerly of Lincoln Street, died Sunday, June 19, in Webster Manor. Her husband of 60 years, Donat A. “Duke” Saucier, died in 1994.
She leaves two grandsons, Gregory G. and his wife Joanne C. Borus of Millbury and Jeffrey R. and his wife Patricia M. Borus of Auburn; a brother, Joseph Knych of Webster; two sisters, Frances Petrin and Gladys Przystas, both of Webster; a great grandson, Andrew J. Borus of Millbury; nieces and nephews. Her daughter, Grace P. Borus, died in 2001.
She was born in Webster, a daughter of Stephen and Catherine (Sikora) Knych, and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Saucier was a stitcher at B & W Footwear Company for many years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of St. Joseph Basilica. She enjoyed playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles, and reading.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, June 22, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at noon in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours are 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 21, at the funeral home. The family suggests donations be made to St. Joseph School Immediate Needs Fund or to the Friends of St. Joseph School Fund, both 53 Whitcomb St.,Webster, MA 01570
