Katie Lee Orrick Craig, 85, of Ty Ty passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Craig at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2016, at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Eldorado, where she will be laid to rest. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 4, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Drew Lavender, Justin Craig, Nicholas Craig, Jamie Willingham, Jimmy Goddard Jr. and Devin Collins will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 2, 1931 in Tift County, Mrs. Craig was the daughter of the late Clinton Orrick and Lou Crum Orrick Phurrough. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Conley Craig, Jr.; a son, John Moore, Jr.; and a daughter, Martha Lee. She was retired from Avondale Mills and of the Baptist faith. She received her nursing assistant degree from Jones College in Jacksonville, Florida.
Mrs. Craig is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Clinton James and Ranie Craig and Carson Elijah and Tracy Craig, both of Tifton; six daughters and two sons-in-law, Katie Jean Simpson, Sara Craig Lucas and Julia Lynetta Avery, all of Tifton, Clara Sue Craig and Jimmy Cay Goddard and husband Jimmy, all of Enigma and Alice and Jim Barrentine of Savannah; a sister and brother-in-law, Clara and Charles Parker of Tifton; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and a special cousin, Jason Sapp of Norman Park.
