Obituary

Gisele G. “Gigi” Croteau, 84, of Woonsocket died peacefully Saturday evening at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Norman C. Croteau who passed away in 1992.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Romeo and Marie Louise (Cormier) Rainville. She was a lifelong resident of the city and a graduate of St. Clare Girls High School.
Gigi worked at Tupperware and U.S. Rubber for a number of years. She was later employed at CVS for over 25 years before retiring.
She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish. Gigi’s love for her family came first and foremost in her life; however her love of bingo was a very close second place. Many an evening could find Gigi playing bingo at various venues in the area.
Gigi is survived by her loving companion of over 17 years Ronald Polaski of Woonsocket, a son Richard N. Croteau and his wife, Pauline, of Woonsocket. She was the sister of Theresa “Terry” Nulty of Woonsocket and the late Laurent “Babe” and Robert Rainville and Muriel Muratori. She is also survived by her grandchildren Justina, Nicole, Christiana and John, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her funeral will be Friday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
