John Joseph Pise, Sr., 85, lifelong resident of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Sun., Jan. 24, 2016. Born on Jan. 6, 1931, he was the son of the late John and Sophie (Majewicz) Pise. John graduated from Chicopee High School, class of 1949. He was a computer operator at Hasbro, Milton Bradley Co., until he retired in 1996. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #4044 in Chicopee. John especially loved spending time with his family and friends, playing cards, watching Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and camping long weekends in Hampton Falls, NH. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf and truly enjoyed life to the fullest. John leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 60 years, Joan (Johnson) Pise and four children; John J. Pise, Jr. and his wife Susan of South Hadley, David M. Pise and his wife Deborah of Chicopee, Deborah A. (Pise) Roberts of Chicopee and Daniel P. Pise of Feeding Hills. He also leaves six grandchildren; Jennifer (Pise) Reid, Nickolas Roberts, Michael Pise, Lisa Pise, Kyle Roberts and Amanda Pise. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his brother Joseph Pise. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mercy Medical Center for the amazing care and support they have shown to his family during his stay. John had requested that there be no calling hours to mourn his passing, but for all who knew him to, in their own way, remember him in happier days. A Memorial Mass will be held on Sat., Jan. 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Assumption Church, Springfield St, Chicopee. Donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
