Matthew L. Moore, 38 of Hampstead, NH died Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH with his loving wife, Terri Moore, by his side. Matthew was born in St. Louis, MO on March 23, 1977, son of Jill and the late Glenn Moore. Matthew graduated from VVS Central High School, Verona, NY in 1995 and received his BS in Communications from Norwich University in Northfield, VT in 1999.
Matthew was a loving father and husband. He was dedicated to serving his country and community and succeeded in doing so as a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, where he served in Iraq during Operation Enduring Freedom. During his career in law enforcement, he was a police officer for the Pelham Police Department, Sandown Police Department and most recently, the Hampstead Police Department (since 2008) where he served as their first Motorcycle Officer. It was serving in Pelham, where Matt met his wife, Terri, who also served on the force. Their friendship grew into a wonderful marriage and then a beautiful family with their two daughters, Brynn (age 5) and McKenna (age 2). Matt and Terri loved to spend time on their motorcycles but above all else Matt cherished every waking moment he had with his family.
Matt will be forever missed by his loving wife Terri (Ferrante) Moore and their two daughters, Brynn and McKenna. He also leaves behind his brother, Jay Moore and wife Cheryl of Canastoa, NY; his mother, Jill Moore of Sherrill, NY; his maternal grandmother, June Wilgus of Vernon, NY. He was predeceased his maternal grandfather, Seymour Wilgus in 2002.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, January 28th from 4 – 8pm at St. Anne’s Parish, 26 Emerson Ave., Hampstead. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday at 10:00am at St. Anne’s Parish. Burial followed in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampstead. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry assisted the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mary and John Elliot Charitable foundation- Cancer Center and The No Moore Cancer Fund.
