Robert E. “Bobby” Morse age 84 of Brockton, died January 18, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Alberta (Pickard) Morse. Bobby was born and raised in Quincy and resided in Brockton since 1970.
Bobby was a heavy equipment operator in the Boston area and was a member of IUOE (International Union of Operating Engineers) Local 4. When he retired, he finished his career with the Brockton Superior Court House.
Bobby was very proud of his boxing achievements and had fought in the Lowell Sun Golden Glove Tournaments in 1950-1952. He also loved to fish on Hamblin Pond in Barnstable on his boat “Sometin’ Fishy”.
Bobby will be remembered as an outgoing, gregarious and friendly man who was a friend of Bill W. for over 40 years. He was always ready to help a friend in need. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alberta and his children Kimberly Morse, Gary Morse, Matthew Morse and Scott Morse all of Brockton and Allyson Cogen and her husband Paul of Deltona, FL. He was the brother of Shirley Breen of Weymouth, Barbie Morse of Hull and his late twin, Gordon of Quincy. He also leaves behind two beloved grandchildren Dayna and Alec Morse.
A funeral service will be held in the Spring. Donations in Bobby’s name may be made to Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
