Emory LaVerne Peters, 73, of Eldorado passed away Friday, January 22, 2016, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Peters will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, January 25, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Cliff Hayman, Rhett Hayman, Michael Mullis, Jr., Chad Peters, Bruce Eubanks, Clinton Eubanks, Robbie Eubanks, Dean Peters and Devin Blanton will serve as pallbearers.
Born November 15, 1942 in Tifton, Mr. Peters was the son of the late, Lawrence Elbert Peters and Estelle Selph Peters. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Peters, Raymond Peters, Buddy Peters and Jimmy Peters; two sisters, Edna Hampton and Wilmanell Greenwood. He was a retired truck driver and of the Baptist faith. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Peters is survived by his wife, Bertie Cloise Peters of Eldorado; one son, Christopher Peters of Tifton; four daughters and three sons-in-law, LaVerne Peters (Steve) Webb of Buckhead, Tracey Blanton of Tifton, Gennise Peters (Fredrick) Baldree of Eldorado and Melissa Peters (Sam Craven) of Eldorado; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
