Dorothy Santopietro, 80, died Thursday, January 21, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Glocester. She was the wife of the late Salvatore Santopietro. They had been married for 55 years before his death in 2011.
Born in Beverly, MA, she was a daughter of the late Clarence J. and Harriet J. (McKinnon) Pelletier.
Formerly of Bayou Drive, Greenville, she had made her home there for 36 years, wintering in Largo Fl for 23 of those. In recent years, she spent summers at her daughter’s home and winter's at her son’s home in Polk City, FL.
She served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Dorothy was employed as a teller at Old Stone Bank before retiring
She is survived by her children, George Santopietro his wife Graciella of Blacksburg, VA, Steven Santopietro of Johnston, Douglas Santopietro his wife Maria of Polk City, FL, and Angela Jalette of Chepachet, as well as her three beloved grandchildren, Justin and Sophia Santopietro and Matthew Jalette, and her siblings, Carol Fitzpatrick and her husband David of Largo, FL, Joyce Cahill and her husband John of Salem, MA and Robert Pelletier and his wife, Donna of Salem, MA and her brother in law, Charlie Houston. She is predeceased by her sister, Lorraine Houston.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday evening at 6:45pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial at a later date in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Tuesday 4-7.
