Leonard Gott, 86, formerly of Candia Road, Chester, NH died Wednesday May 15, 2002 at the VA Medical Center in Manchester following a lengthy illness. He was born on April 30, 1916 in Shipley, England, a son of the late John and Ada (Casey) Gott. He was a resident of Manchester for 6 years formerly living for over 40 years in Chester, NH. He was a US Army veteran who served during World War II. He was employed for many years as a furnace repairman for Gannon Oil and more recently Hadco Printed Circuits, both in Derry. He was a member of the American Legion in Chester and the Chester Senior Citizens. He volunteered with the Boy Scouts, worked with the Civil Defense, and ran the Teen Town Dances in Chester. He was predeceased by one granddaughter, Melissa Robinson in 2000.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Alice G. (Wheeler) Gott, Chester, one daughter, Nancy Baldwin, Ocala, FL, one son Kenneth Gott, Manchester, NH, six grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one sister, Katherine Walling, Hooksett, NH.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday May 18, 2002 at 10:00am at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Burial will follow at Great Hill Cemetery, Chester.
