Carmela M. (Coppola) DeSimone, Of Burlington, formerly of Medford, died Tuesday at her home, surrounded by a loving family. She was 88.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and the late Carmela (Contardo) Coppola. A dedicated wife and mother, Carmela was a very active member in her community. A member of the Santa Maria Lodge of the Order of the Sons of Italy and the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Auxilliary, Carmela was a Past –President of the Medford Woman’s Republican Club.
She was the beloved wife of the late Alberico DeSimone. She was a devoted mother to Felicia Donadio of Bedford, Diane Schalke of Wayland and the late Robert DeSimone. She was a loving grandmother to Robert Donadio of Hudson, NH, Karen Donadio of Bedford, Gary DeSimone of England, Christine Donadio of New York City, Kim Wolf of Oceanside, CA, Leslie O'Donnell of Chelmsford, and Valerie Kelly of Nashua. She was a great-grandmother to Cynthia, Joshua, Trisha, and Deanna Donadio, Jeremy and Katelyn O'Donnell, Timothy and Philip Wolf. She was a dear sister to the late Phyllis DeRosa, Anna Lees, Dolores Rossi, Bessie, Phillip, Rocco and John Coppola.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 - 8.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
