Elizabeth "Betty" J. (Langill) Sbuttoni of Medford died peacefully on Monday, January 18, at the Winchester Nursing Center, surrounded by her loving family. Raised in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Elizabeth (McCarthy) Langill.
Betty moved to Medford in her teens. She worked as an administrative assistant, later retiring from Massport. Betty served as an officer in several social clubs and was involved with the senior center. She worked as a volunteer at Mass Eye and Ear, and served as a Girl Scout Leader. Betty was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed travel, especially to Wells, Maine and Atlantic City, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Betty was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Sbuttoni, and the devoted mother of Elissa Sbuttoni-Mobarek of Cary, NC, Elaine Sbuttoni of Medford, and Debi Riley of Enfield, CT. She was the loving grandmother of Adam Mobarek, Michelle and Jimmy Dolaher, Kristin Walsh and her husband Pete, Joseph Riley, and the loving great grandmother of Kylie and Bryce Walsh, and Paige Noseworthy. Betty was the sister of the late Lauraine Coe.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, January 22, at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may arrive at 10 AM to pay their respects. Visiting hours Thursday, January 21, from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
