Obituary


Benoit “Ben” T. Bilodeau, 77, of 31 Opechee Street died on Tuesday morning, June 14, 2005 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ben was the son of the late Wilfred and Victoria (LaCroix) Bilodeau. He was born in St. Maglore, Quebec, Canada. January 9, 1928 coming to Laconia in 1933 where he had made his residence.

Ben was a molder for 40 years at the former Laconia Malleable Iron Company in Laconia. Prior to his retirement in 1990 he was a custodian for 10 years at the Laconia High School.

Ben was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Laconia, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Laconia Council No 428.

Ben is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lucille M. (Maheux) Bilodeau of Laconia, two sons, Ted Bilodeau and his wife Karen of Gilford, and Ron Bilodeau and his wife Winnie of Laconia. One daughter, Linda Hyman and her husband Whitey of Saline, KS. Two brothers, Rene Bilodeau of Ontario, and Lorenzo Bilodeau of MA. Three sisters, Rita Carrier of Montreal, Alice Dion of Quebec, and Margana Brochu of Montreal
8 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were be held on Friday, June 17, 2005 from the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia at 9:00 a.m., followed by a mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, at 10:00 a.m.
Rev Adrien R. Longchamps, pastor of the church celebrated the mass. Burial followed in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia. Family and friends were invited to visit Thursday June 16, 2005, from 7-9 p.m. at Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia.
