Obituary

Virginia K. (Kingsley) Hughes of Wayland, formerly of Wellesley, died June 13, 2005. She was 82. Mrs. Hughes was born in Cambridge and was the daughter of the late Frederick and Ethel (Stott) Kingsley. She attended Wellesley College and lived in Wellesley for 39 years. She has been a Wayland resident since 1996. Mrs. Hughes was a dedicated real estate professional for more than 30 years in Wellesley and as the previous owner of Hughes Associates in Waban. She was presently a real estate broker for Caldwell Banker in Wellesley. Mrs. Hughes was very active in the community. She was a member of the Ace of Clubs, the Wellesley College Club, the Wellesley Country Club, and past member of the Wellesley Historic District Study Committee.

She was the beloved wife of the late Kevin F. Hughes.

Devoted mother of Nancy H. Powell and her husband Richard of Natick, Janet S. Robinson and her husband Gerald of New Hampshire, Kevin F. Hughes and his wife Katie of California, Laurie Dolan and her husband Patrick of Wayland, Carol Martin and her husband David of Millis and Diane Valente and her husband Donald of Needham. Loving grandmother of Stephen, Mary, and Jennifer Powell; Megan, Anna, Gerald and Kevin Robinson III; Thomas and Charlotte Hughes; Hillary and Heather Dolan; Andrew and Jeffery Martin and Kendall, Jillian, Robin, and Delaney Valente. Sister of the late Frederick and David Kingsley. Sister in law of Nancy Kingsley of Martha’s Vineyard. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., WELLESLEY, on Friday at 9 am. Funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Wellesley Hills, at 10 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8 pm. Private interment in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline.
