
Mary Lorraine (Santos) Almeida, age 82, long time resident of Carver, Massachusetts, former resident of Oak Hill Golden Living Nursing Home in Middleboro, died unexpectedly on January 13, 2016. Mary was born on September 15, 1933 in Plymouth, MA. She was a graduate of Carver and Plymouth School Systems. Mary graduated from Plymouth High School in 1952. One of Mary’s happiest days was when she symbolized her dedication to her God Jehovah with her baptism in 1944. Additionally, Mary worked for Raytheon and retired from Halliday Lithograph Book Binding Company. Mary was the daughter of John D. Santos and Rosemond V. (Monteiro) Santos, (now deceased). Mary is survived by brothers Carl J. Santos, twin Mitchell A. Santos, Jerome R. Santos, Darrell M. Silva and their wives, and sister Margaret E. Monterio (deceased). Also, Mary was married to Frank M. Almeida Jr. (deceased). She was the mother of five children: Ramona L., Donna M., Edwin F. (Penny M., spouse), Lisa J. (deceased) and Susan M. Almeida. She shared a maternal bond with Loreen Rankins and often referred to her as “her daughter”. Mary was blessed with seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was also loved by many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Mary loved her family and friends and had a wonderful way of touching hearts and making people happy. She will be missed. Come and celebrate Mary’s life with family and friends on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Shepherd Funeral Home located at 116 Main Street, Carver, MA. The internment will be held at the Lakenham Cemetery in Carver, MA on Saturday, January 23rd at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial talk at the Middleboro Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 2:00 p.m. Donations in Mary L.
