Hugh D. Buchanan, 83, of Attleboro, died Monday, January 11, 2016. He was the husband of Virginia A. (Cooper) Buchanan.
Born in Attleboro, son of the late David W. and Luella (Grant) Buchanan, he was a lifelong resident of Attleboro. A graduate of Attleboro High School Class of 1950, he was voted cutest boy in his class. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement in 1995, he was a first class lineman for Mass Electric. Mr. Buchanan was a proud and loving grandfather and had the rare gift of making everyone he encountered laugh and smile. He will be sadly missed by anyone who had the privilege of knowing him. The family would like to extend a special thanks to everyone who made his life special.
Including his wife, survivors include 3 sons: Hugh D. Buchanan, Jr. of Attleboro, Scott A. Buchanan of Westport and Grant C. Buchanan and his wife Wendy of Wrentham; 2 sisters: Jean Yeo of Attleboro Falls and Shirley Gorman of PA; and 3 grandchildren: Courtney, Rebecca and Abigail. He was brother of the late Audrey Chase.
Funeral services to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Potter Funeral Home at 2:30 P.M.
Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:30 P.M. prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
