Hazel Greer Smith,age 72, widow of Hubert Smith, passed away at her home in Water Valley on Saturday, June 11, 2005. The daughter of the late Hugh and Ruth Shepherd Greer, she was born in the Water Valley area and lived here most of her life. She worked for years at Wright's Grocery in Water Valley, and Magnolia Mini-Mart in Water Valley.
The family will receive friends at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 pm with funeral services on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at 1:00 PM in Henry Chapel at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Officiating at the funeral will be Reverend Bill Forsyth with Tommy Pannell, Kevin Pannell, Brent Townsend, Mike Pepper, Anthony Boxx and Jerred Smith serving as Pallbearers. Committal will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS
Hazel always had a smile, she was sure to remember your birthday, if you ever told her, and she loved gardening, cooking and her embrodery work.
She leaves a daughter, Wanda Pannell of Water Valley, MS and a son, Clay Smith of Pensacola, FL : one sister, Edna Barclay of Horn Lake, MS : a step-sister, Lottie Black of Sarasota, FL: two step-brothers, Temple Pugh of Hernando, MS and James Pugh of Tucson, AZ: four grandchildren, Kevin Pannell of Water Valley, MS, Jerred Smith of Memphis, TN, Mikayla Smith and Terra Smith of Pensacola, FL: four great grandchildren, Tyler, Noah and Madison Pannell of Water Valley, MS and Luna Smith of Memphis, TN.
