Laconia----- Sharon L. Morningstar-Leonard, age 69, died Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, NH. Sharon was born in Sutton, NH on October 24, 1946, the daughter of the late Lyndon Earle and Grace Katherine (Annis) Huckins.
Sharon worked as a nurse for twenty five years and also was a justice of the peace. She loved camping, swimming, fishing and hunting and took great pride in her Native American Indian culture. Sharon also enjoyed traveling, yard saling and doing crafts, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Members of the family include her daughter Linda Isabelle and her husband Donald of Laconia; four sons, George Boissonnault and his life partner Reno Landry of Lakeport, Tom Boissonnault of Concord, Donald Boissonnault and his wife Deborah of Laconia and Peter Boissonnault and his wife Jennifer of Laconia; two brothers, Lyndon Huckins and his wife Nancy of Gilford and David Huckins and his wife Tammy of Osipee; five sisters, Virginia Canfield of Laconia, Gloria McKenna of Sutton, Sandra True of Bradford, Kathleen Batcheldor of Las Vegas, NV and Charmaine Wyatt and her husband George of Belmont; nine grandchildren, Morgan, Arron, TJ, Abram, Mariah, Alanna, Tyler, Justin and Rachel. Sharon also leaves behind many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her husband Harold Hills.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Sharon's life on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 11:00 AM- 6:00 PM at the VFW Hall, 143 Court St., Laconia, NH. Please bring a dish and a story.
A private burial will take place at the Oakland Cemetery in Meredith Center at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sharon's name can be made to the Belknap House, 291 Union Ave., Laconia, NH 03246 to assist them in opening a new shelter for the homeless of the Lakes Region.
