Ann M. (Kilday) Murray, age 77, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, January 4, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Murray who died on June 30, 1999.
Born in Boston, MA on January 11, 1938, she was a loving daughter of the late Peter J., Sr. and Catherine M. (Roche) Kilday
Ann grew up in the Mission Hill section of Boston and was a 1956 graduate of Mission High School. She had made her home in Mansfield for the past 48 years.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Murray had worked in sewing at Dale Medical Products in Plainville and was a former longtime employee in the Mansfield school system.
Ann’s favorite times spent were those in the presence of her adoring family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a Communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, where she also served as a former Religious Education Teacher.
Ann received much pleasure in volunteering, along with her daughter, at the Celeste House in Plainville and spending winters with her sister and late husband in Key West, Florida.
She is survived by her devoted children Michael R. Murray and his wife Jennifer of North Attleboro, Richard E. Murray of Mansfield, Mary Beth Murray and her fiancé Stephen Dingivan of Foxboro, Stephen W. Murray of Attleboro and Paul J. Murray and his wife Jennifer of Sandwich. She was the dear sister of Mary Fahey of Charlestown and the late Peter J. Kilday, Jr., William J. Kilday and Thomas J. Kilday. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Patrick Murray, Leah Patterson, Krystal O’Brien, Ryan X. Murray, Marissa Murray, Emily Murray, Katherine Murray, James Murray and Matthew Murray, her great grandchildren Jacob and Kylie, many nieces and nephews, and her best friend “Spencer”.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday, January 8th at 11:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at 1:45 P.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Visiting hours on Thursday, January 7th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
Due to the limitation of flowers allowed at the National Cemetery, Ann’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the New England Center for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
