Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Monday morning, June 13th at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Liturgy in Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, 8 Addison Street, Chelsea at 9 o’clock. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-6 PM with Panikhida Service at 5:30 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. A life long resident of Chelsea, Lydia, age 85, passed away Thursday evening at the Ledgewood Rehab and Skilled Care Center after a long illness. A 1937 graduateof Chelsea High School, she was also a graduate of the Whidden Memorial Hospital School of Nursing as well as the School of Anesthetsia in Jamaica, New York. A United States Navy Nurse Corp. Veteran of World War II, after discharge she worked for over 35 years in the anesthetia Dept. of the Salem Hospital.
