
Yolande H. Phaneuf, 97, formerly of Morton Ave. Woonsocket died peacefully Wednesday surrounded by her family at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the loving wife of the late Arthur L. Phaneuf. They were married in 1943 and shared over 50 years together until his passing in 1993.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Emile and Laurendy (Turcotte) Charland.
Mrs. Phaneuf was employed in the local textile industry at the Mansurel Worsted mill and later at Bonin Spinning Company.
Yolande was a devoted mother and faithful member of Precious Blood Parish. Any and all of her activities centered around her family and church.
She is survived by four sons Rene R. Phaneuf and his wife, Francoise, of Mapleville, James A. Phaneuf of Woonsocket, Donald R. Phaneuf and his wife, Anita, of FL and Victor M. Phaneuf of Millis, MA., two daughters Simone Hilliker of Woonsocket and Diane Grenon of Woonsocket. She was the mother-in-law of the late Vincent Grenon. She was the sister of the late Maurice, Emile, Charles and Rene Charland and Bernadette Glaude. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, Woonsocket. Visiting hours are Tuesday morning from 9-11 am, prior to Mass, in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
