Whitman - Robert E. Chase, Sr., 83 died Wednesday December 30 after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Beverly V. (Jean) Chase.
Born in Boston and raised in Watertown, he was the son of the late Edgar and Bertha (Boudrot) Chase.
Robert had been a lifelong resident of Whitman.
Robert was in the Marine Corp from 1952 - 1955 and had served in the Korean War.
Robert raised a large family and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son and nephew. He was a devoted husband and father and his joy came from time spent with his children, son in-law and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving children, Virginia Chase of Whitman, Cheryl Enegess of Plymouth, Brenda Nunez and her husband Tony of Whitman as well as 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Robert E Chase, Jr. and the brother of the late Edna Cantalupo, Nancy Savino, Lorraine Chase, Clifford Chase and Walter Chase.
His funeral service will be held Thursday January 7 at 11:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday January 6 from 5:00-8:00 PM.
