Albert W. Seifert, 78, of Mystic, CT., passed away on December 8, 2015 at home surrounded by his family after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born April 9, 1937 in Clifton, New Jersey to Albert and Louise Seifert.
After graduating from Clifton High School he attended Rutgers University, where he was a member of Zeta Psi fraternity, with a degree in Industrial Engineering and Ceramics Engineering. Later on he also received an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Albert’s professional career began at Oak Ridge National Laboratories in Oak Ridge, Tennessee where he worked as an engineer. He retired from Greene Plastics Corporation in Hope Valley, RI where he worked for thirty years as President and CEO. During his tenure with Greene he served two terms as president of the Craft and Hobby Association.
As a young man Al was an enthusiastic outdoorsman, passionate about hunting and trout fishing. In his later years he was an avid traveler visiting destinations in Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa. He was dedicated to working on home improvement projects and reading the Wall Street Journal from front to back page every day.
He is survived by his current wife Barbara, his sons Albert (Nancy), Scott, and daughter Susan (Jim). He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren, Melinda, Dustin, Max, Phoebe, Ashley, and Zachary and great granddaughter Rachel. He was predeceased by his sister Eleanor Lubarsky.

A memorial service will be held at noon on January 9th, 2016 at Latitude 41 Restaurant in Mystic, CT.
