TAUNTON - Brett J. Ploude, son of Richard and Kelley (Cwiek) Ploude, Jr., died unexpectedly on Dec. 24, 2015 at Tufts Medical Center, Boston.
He was 16.
Born in Taunton, he was a sophomore at Taunton High School, and previously attended Bristol-Plymouth High School.
A communicant of Holy Family Church, he was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed computers. Brett played youth sports in the Taunton East Little League, Taunton Cubs, and Pop Warner football.
He was a six year participant in Taunton’s Relay for Life, a two year participant in The One Mission Buzz Off for Kids, a three year participant in the Tanner J. Barbara Memorial Road Race, and an organ donor.
Survivors include three sisters, Olivia (his twin sister), Sarah, and Rose Ploude of Taunton; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Cwiek of Taunton, his paternal grandparents, Richard Ploude Sr. and MaryAnn McCarthy of Lakeville; his great-grandmother, Fernande Tigano; an aunt, Erica Lyford of East Taunton; an uncle, Stephen Ploude of Westport and many cousins.
He was also the grandson of the late Elizabeth Ploude; and the great grandson of the late Ann and Joseph Ploude, Elizabeth and Harold Cleary, Walter and Jennie Cwiek, and Dominic Tigano.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 8:45 a.m. followed by his Funeral Mass at Holy Family Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 1, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m.
