Obituary

Laura A. Breton passed away at the Brigham and Women's Hospital of Boston, after a brief illness. She was 52. Raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Barbara F. (Joyce) Flammia. A Medford resident for much of her life, she lived in Chelsea for several years.

Laura was devoted to her family and friends. She was a loving mother, partner and sister. Part of a large extended family she was someone everyone could count on for love and support. Her love of family translated easily into her nurturing of the young. Throughout her life she was involved in early childhood education and most recently worked at St. Rose School in Chelsea with the Pre-K program.


She was the devoted fiancé’ of Phil Crowley of Chelsea and beloved mother of Timothy J. Faherty of Derry, NH, and Leah Breton of Chelsea. She was a loving “Mimi” to Junior, Jordan and Julian. The dear sister of Donna Carty and her husband Larry Erickson of Carver, Gail Morrison and her husband Ken of York, ME, Barbara Flammia and her spouse Mary Beth Hollingworth of Haverhill, James Flammia and his wife Gail of North Andover, William Flammia and his wife Patricia of Scottsdale, AZ, she is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her special cousin Marie Buckley.

Laura’s funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday, December 31st at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family at the funeral home, Wednesday 4 – 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Laura’s name to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Division of Development/Jimmy Fund, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
