Maryanne Elizabeth Bennett, 74, of Worcester died Sunday, December 27th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus. She leaves a brother, Edward J. Bennett and his wife, Antoinette of Holden; a sister in law, Beverly Bennett of Worcester; two nieces, Peg Valiquette and Kate Fontaine; a nephew, Edward Bennett; and several cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, John S. Bennett, Jr.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of John S. Bennett, Sr. and Ann G. (Hogan) Bennett. Maryanne graduated from the former High School of Commerce and Westboro State Hospital in 1964. She worked at the Providence House Nursing Home as an LPN retiring in 1984. Ms. Bennett was an associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Holyoke.
Her funeral is on Wednesday, December 30th with a service at 10:30 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
