Obituary

Richard J. Collins, 71, a resident of Northwood, NH, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Presidential Oaks Skilled Nursing Facility in Concord, NH.

Born in Lawrence, MA, Richard was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, and then went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from Merrimack College. He had worked as a Customer Service Specialist at the Internal Revenue Service for some 15 years. A United States Army Veteran, Richard had served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He was an avid fisherman and was very dedicated to his nephews.

The son of the late William F. and Helen (Danahy) Collins, family members include:
a sister: Patricia M. Yameen of Salisbury, MA, a brother: Thomas M. Collins and his wife Catherine of Spring Hill, FL, his nephews: George, Paul, William and Michael Yameen as well as a niece, Patricia M. Meyer. Richard is also survived by several grandnieces and grandnephews. He was the brother of the late William M. Collins.

Relatives and friends are invited to St. Patrick’s Church, 118 South Broadway in Lawrence for a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery also in Lawrence. At the request of Richard’s family, there are no calling hours.
