Obituary

Dr. Kenneth J. Curran DMD, of Bonita Springs, Florida and Gloucester, formerly of Woburn passed away peacefully, December 20, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Jill (Johnson) Curran together sharing fifty years of marriage. He was one of two children of the late Joseph F. and Anne (Buckley) Curran Sr.

Ken was raised and educated in Woburn and was a 1956 graduate of Woburn High School. Following high school he went on to continue his studies at Tufts University graduating in 1960 and then onto the Tufts University School of Dentistry where he graduated from in 1964. Shortly following his graduation he entered the United States Navy as a commissioned officer and honorably served as a Lieutenant from 1964 to 1967. When he returned home from the service he began his practice in Woburn located on Warren Ave, where he practiced for the next thirty years prior to his retirement. In his leisure time Ken enjoyed gardening and was quite the handyman around his homes. Together with his beloved wife Jill, they enjoyed traveling with friends and family and especially enjoyed many trips to Ireland over the years. Ken was a member of the Bass Rocks Golf Club in Gloucester where he enjoyed many rounds of golf with friends. One of his greatest joys was caring for his pet dogs throughout his life.

In addition to his beloved wife, Ken is survived by his brother-in-law of Bill "Lefty" Johnson of Woburn, sister-in-law Judy Griffin and her husband Dan of Wisconsin. He is sadly predeceased by his brother, Joseph F. Curran Jr. and his wife Jacqueline, brothers-in-law, Fred and Richard Johnson. He was the loving uncle of Mary, Tara, Margery and Erin. He is also survived by eleven loving great nieces and nephews and is further survived by his beloved dog, Ceili.

A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, Monday, December 28th, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Ken's memory to the MSPCA-Angell Headquarters, 350 South Huntington Ave. Boston, MA 02130 or the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
