…Disabled Navy Veteran; 58
TEWKSBURY - William John McCann, age 58, died unexpectedly September 24 at his Lowell home, from an apparent heart attack.
Bill was born in Brighton, in April 1957, a son of the late William F. and Eileen M. (Keating) McCann, and was raised in the Kent Street neighborhood of Tewksbury. He graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School with the Class of 1975. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy, and served in the Submarine Corps. He was Honorably Discharged as a service connected Disabled Veteran.
Bill lived throughout the greater Boston area throughout his adult life and had settled in Lowell less than a year ago.
He leaves a sister, Sheila M. Welch and her husband Kenneth of Lowell, his twin brothers, Frederick M. McCann of Methuen and Joseph F. McCann of Tewksbury, a brother John C. McCann of Plymouth, MA; three nephews Patrick McCann of Andover, Kenneth and Matthew Welch both of Lowell, and one grandnephew, James Welch.
A Memorial Graveside Service with Navy Honors will be offered on Monday, December 28, at 1:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East St., Tewksbury. Memorials to the E.N. Rogers VA Hospital, Volunteer Services, Bldg. 61, 200 Springs Rd., Bedford, MA 01730 are encouraged. Arrangements were through the Tewksbury Funeral Home. See www.tewksburyfuneralhome.com
