Claire E. (Gilmore) Bettencourt, 77, of Dartmouth died Wednesday June 8, 2005 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility. She was the wife of Leonard C. Bettencourt.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Richard and Valerie (Chevrette) Gilmore, she had lived in Dartmouth for most of her life.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael L. Bettencourt of Dartmouth; a daughter, Heidi J. Bettencourt of Dartmouth; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Ruth Wheeler, Blanche Gilmore, and Pearl Soares.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 11, 2005 at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday June 10, 2005 from 6-9 PM.
