Mrs. Karen Ann (Dunlop) Broomhead, of Raynham, died Friday, December 18 in Morton Hospital following a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of Robert J. Broomhead, Sr. She was born 56 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Robert J. and Maude E. (Woodward) Dunlop. She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong area resident. Karen was formerly employed in Quality Control at Saint Gobain Performance Plastics in Taunton for 12 years. She enjoyed Word Search puzzles, watching Days of Our Lives on television, telephone conversations and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she leaves: 2 sons: Robert J. Broomhead, Jr. and his fiancée, Mellisa Valequett, of Attleboro, and Antone James Broomhead of Raynham; 2 brothers: James T.F. Dunlop and his wife, Marsha, of New Bedford, and Leslie Dunlop and his wife, Kimberly, of Calif.; 2 sisters: Margaret Dunlop and her companion, Joseph Gougan, of Carver, and Mary A. Perry and her companion, Robert Perry of Taunton; 2 grandchildren: Shantael and Evelynn Broomhead, and several nieces and nephews. Karen was also the sister of the late Robert J. Dunlop.
Visiting Hours will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Saturday, January 9, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Karen's family.
