MacAUSLAND, Frances Prescott Baker, 91, of Dedham and Tuftonboro, NH, died peacefully at home December 17, 2015 surrounded by her family. Her husband, Dr. William R. MacAusland Jr., predeceased her.
She was born in Boston, daughter of Theodore Colcord Baker and Edith Prescott Baker. She grew up in Brookline, graduated from The Park School, and Beaver Country Day School. A past trustee of Dexter School, she was also a former courier and long time volunteer for the Frontier Nursing Service (Wendover, KY).
She leaves six children: Russell (and partner Pamela) of New York and Morristown, NJ, Stephen (and wife, Anita) of Portsmouth, RI, Augusta Droste (and husband Bruce) of Winchester, NH, Edie Mabrey (and husband, Roy) of Needham, Theodore (and wife, Stephanie) of Westwood and Samuel of Wellesley. Also twelve grandchildren: Charlotte MacAusland of San Francisco, CA, Dorothy MacAusland of New York, NY, Will Patterson (and wife Nicole) of Roslindale, Slade Patterson (and fiancée, Liz) of Boston, Charles Patterson of Washington D.C., Roy Mabrey III (and wife, Siobhan) of San Francisco, CA, Ted Mabrey of New York, NY, Hallie Mabrey of Boston, Linzee Mabrey of Hempstead, NY, and Robin, Theodore Jr. and William MacAusland, all of Westwood. She also leaves two great-grandchildren Piper Mabrey and Mac Patterson.
The family is very appreciative of caretakers Gloria and Antonia and Seasons Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Frontier Nursing Service, 132 FNS Drive, Wendover, KY 41775. Services will be private.
