LAKEVILLE -- Edith T. (Tinkham) Bradwell, 97, of Lakeville, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at the Island Terrace Nursing Home. She was the widow of Thomas G. Bradwell.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Edith Lyle (Reed) Tinkham. After retiring, she moved to Lakeville to live with her daughter for 12 years and then to Island Terrace.
Mrs. Bradwell was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Wheaton College class of 1929.
She worked for New England Telephone Co. and then as a teacher in the New Bedford school system, teaching at the Clark Street School and mostly at the Elizabeth Carter Brooks School.
Mrs. Bradford was a member of the Massachusetts Mayflower Society, the Morse Society and Descendents of Whaling Masters. She was a former member of the Alcott Club of New Bedford, WHALE and the College Club, and was an active member of the Grace Episcopal Church in New Bedford.
She traveled a great deal during her retirement years.
Survivors include a daughter, Nan B. Jackson of Lakeville; and a grandson.
Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2005, in the Seaman's Bethel on Johnny Cake Hill in New Bedford, Ma.
Remembrances may be made in her name to the Memorial Fund of Grace Episcopal Church, 133 School Street, New Bedford, Ma.
