Obituary

CHICOPEE – Tracy Lindsay Cheatle, 28, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, December 14, 2015. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Gloversville, New York on January 18, 1987 a beloved daughter of Linda M. (Paquette) Cheatle of Chicopee and Bruce Cheatle. She was raised in Gloversville until 1995 when her family moved to the Fairview section of Chicopee. Tracy graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and then received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the College of Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee. She was employed as a harm reduction counselor for Tapestry Health in Holyoke and was later employed as an outreach coordinator at the Center for Human Development for Children and Families in West Springfield. Tracy’s love for helping people was evident by her request that, at the time of her passing, her vital organs be donated to help other people. In her work as a harm reduction counselor, she was mentioned in an article in the December 2012 edition of Pioneer Magazine. She was also featured in a documentary entitled “Back from the Brink” on Vice News. Tracy was a very spiritual person in her own way and enjoyed helping her family and her many friends. During her leisure time, she enjoyed writing and decorating and also enjoyed browsing local consignment shops. Most of all, she was a loving daughter and sister who was the life of her family. Besides her loving mother and father, she leaves her cherished sister and brother-in-law, Kristen S. O’Brien and her husband, Michael, of Holbrook, MA; and her many dear uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends. She was predeceased by her loving brother, Chad Cheatle who was Called Home in August of 2005; her loving maternal grandparents, Jeffrey R. Paquette and Cecile (Davignon) Paquette; and her loving paternal grandparents, Charles Cheatle and Alberta (Ross) Cheatle Funnell. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home. Her burial will be private. Her family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in her memory to the Children’s Miracle Network at Baystate Medical Center, 280 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01199.
