POMFRET, CT – Sharon Ann Sama, 40, of 369 Pomfret Street, died at home on Monday, June 6, 2005, with her family beside her, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Geoffrey Liggett, and their four children, Ned, Harrison, Grace and Jack. She also leaves her parents, Dominick and Jane Sama; her five siblings, John, Catherine, Susan (her twin), James and Frank, and their partners; as well as her nieces and nephews, and many loving friends.
Sharon was born in Groton, Massachusetts, on February 28, 1965, and grew up there. She graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.A. in Business Administration, before moving to Rhode Island where she worked for two public relation firms. She then started her own public relations company, SAS Communications. She married Geoffrey Liggett in 1990, and they moved to Pomfret in 2000. After the birth of their fourth child, Sharon decided to devote herself entirely to her family.
Sharon was a generous and wise person, well-loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
A service in celebration of her life will be held at Noon on Saturday, June 11, 2005 at the Clark Memorial Chapel on the Pomfret School Campus.
