FRAMINGHAM: Michael D. Burke, age 57, a longtime Framingham resident, died on Monday, December 14, 2015, at his home. He was the devoted father of Walter E. Burke of Framingham.
Born, raised and educated in Natick, Michael was the beloved son of Barbara A. (Flynn) Burke of Natick and the late David A. “Sonny” Burke, who died in April. After graduation from Natick High School he continued his education at Control Data Institute. He was employed throughout his career as a technician with several area companies, among them Data General, Sepaton, and currently with EMC.
Michael married and settled in Framingham thirty years ago, and the couple welcomed Walter in 1994. A Boston sports fan, he also enjoyed music and followed several local bands. He was an enthusiastic Harley Davidson owner, and would ride his bike for hours along the highways and back roads of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Michael was most proud of his son, and always looked forward to spending time with him.
In addition to his son and mother, he is survived by his six siblings, Sharon Burke of Natick, Ann Marie “Mimi” Coyle of Milford, Daniel Burke and his wife Teresa of NH, Jerry Burke of Medway, John Burke and his wife Virginia of NH, and Jacqueline Burke of NC; and his former wife and friend, Teresa “Terry” Reddoch of Natick.
His funeral service will be in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Saturday, December 19th at 1:00PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Friday 4 – 7PM.
