Obituary

December 6, 2015, Ed passed away peacefully in his sleep after many years of failing health. He was 64 years old.
He attended Taunton Schools and received his G.E.D while in the US Army. He served 2 years in Germany where he worked as a truck mechanic with the US Armor Division. He achieved the rank of Specialist 4. He was honorably discharged and earned the Good Conduct Medal.
Eddie then worked in a variety of jobs including working as a MRW for the Paul A Dever State School. Most of his employment was as a private contractor as a house painter.
Those who know Eddie will tell you he missed his calling. He had a great sense of humor and a keen Witt and those who knew him will tell you that he should have been a stand up comedian. He could entertain a room filled with people and there would be non-stop laughter. Edward loved all animals especially dogs, horses and his two cats sneezy and spatz.
Eddies passion in life revolved around sports and sports entertainment. As a younger man, he was a good softball player who was a fast runner. He played in the Taunton Softball League on a team called “The Crows”. This team was comprised of a group of friends/athletes who played well but most of all enjoyed the game. Eddie was a colorful member of the team.
Eddie is survived by his son Denim. Sisters Ann Lopes, Barbara Devlin and Beatrice Lagace. Brother’s Leo and Bill. As well as 25 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Alice and Father Leo and brother of the late Yvonne, Jayne, Thomas, Peter, John, Jeffrey.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Church. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. Interment will be Private. The Okeefe-Wade Funeral Home of Taunton is assisting the family with the arrangements.
