Ruth Perry, 77, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, December 13, 2015, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Ricky Kellum officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, from 6 to 8, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Perry was born April 30, 1938, in Berrien County, Georgia, to the late John Morgan & Vermel Taylor Luke. She moved to the community in 1986 from Hazlehurst and worked with a nursing home and the Georgia Vegetable Plant Company in Tifton for several years. Mrs. Perry enjoyed fishing and loved her family. She was a member of Abundant Life Pentecostal Worship Center in Fitzgerald.
She is survived by her children: Danny Mitchell, Tommy Mitchell & Glenda Jo and Sheryl Mitchell, all of Fitzgerald and Verna Denise Holcomb & Lamar of Monroe; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother: Luther Lee Luke & Patsy of Winder; sisters: Mary Ginell of Nashville and Gail Brogdon of Enigma. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: George Perry; two sons: Clayton Mixon and Donnie Carlton Mitchell.
