Obituary

WORCESTER___Jerzy Luczyk, 74, of 16 Alpine St., died Friday June 3 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.

He leaves his wife of 48 years. Maria (Bania) Luczyk, two sons, Bogdan Luczyk and his wife Kathleen of Charlton; and Stanley Luczyk and his wife Kelly of Leicester; a brother, Henryk Luczyk and a sister, Irena Luczyk both of Poland; three grandchildren, Zachary, Olivia and Vanessa and nephews and nieces. He was born and raised in Poland, a son of Jan and Miroslawa (Wojda) Luczyk and has lived here 40 years.

Mr. Luczyk was an iron worker for Standard Foundry Co., and worked there 20 years before he retired. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Mr. Luczyk was a veteran of the Polish Army.

Jerzy was very devoted to his wife and was a beloved father and an adoring grandfather who cared about his grandchildren. He never missed his grandson’s hockey games.

The funeral will be held on Thursday June 9 from HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday June 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Memorial Fund, 34 Ward St., Worcester, Ma, 01610.
