Obituary

Deborah “Deb” (Castle) McAndrews, of Kingston, age 55, died peacefully Friday December 11, 2015 with her family by her side.

She grew up in Plympton and was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Deb dedicated her time to her family. When her two boys were growing up, she was known for her time and contributions to Whitman-Hanson-Kingston Youth Hockey and could be found at the ice rink at all hours of the day or night to support her children and their teams.

In her youth, Deb also enjoyed riding horses in the Rough Rider barrel-racing club. She attended hair-dressing school but her rheumatoid arthritis prevented her from pursuing a career in the field.

Deb battled the painful effects of an aggressive form of rheumatoid arthritis without complaint. Asked how she was feeling, you would always receive the same response: "fine and dandy”. So aptly put by her oldest son, “She was an amazing, strong, determined person that will be unbelievably missed by so many people who loved her."

Deb is survived by her husband Ronald K. McAndrews and her two sons Steven R. McAndrews of Kingston and Joseph K. McAndrews of Pembroke. She joins her father Robert E. Castle, Jr. who pre-deceased her and is survived by her mother Karenlee C. (Gaura) Castle. She is also sister to Kathy-lee Castle of Colorado and Robin J. Maher of Halifax. She leaves behind three grandchildren Evan, Ethan and Cody McAndrews of Kingston. Deb is also survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews and her extended family and friends. ?Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Route 106), Kingston. A funeral service will also be held at Shepherd Funeral Home on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 10 a.m. and burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Plympton.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a youth charity, of your choice, that will allow underprivileged youth to participate in sporting clubs/activities. To offer condolences or for directions visit www.shepherdfuneralhome.com.
