BEVERLY: Francesca “Fran” (Marcucci) Sciamanna, 86, died on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Putnam Farm in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Norman A. Sciamanna who died in 2004. They shared nearly fifty-five years of marriage.
Born in Beverly on January 16, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Arcangelo and Giovanina (Pretola) Marcucci. She was a lifelong resident of Beverly and a graduate of Beverly High School class of 1946.
Fran worked for a short time as a bookkeeper for A. Corelli Plumbing in Beverly and took great pride in being a full time mother. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, walking, shopping and especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
She was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church and a member of the Senior Citizen Club and the Beverly Council of Aging.
She is survived by her beloved children, Paul Sciamanna and his wife, Lisa (Comire), Joanne Fellows and her husband, John and David Sciamanna and his wife, Jean (Woods) all of Beverly; six grandchildren, Alison Sciamanna, Michael Sciamanna and his wife, Heather, Adam and Matthew Fellows and Jennifer and Julie Sciamanna; one brother, Rudolph Marcucci of Danvers; one sister, Elizabeth Constantino and her husband, Anthony of Beverly; sister-in-law, Nat Marcucci of Beverly and many dear nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Pat and Thomas Marcucci.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly from 1 -5 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly, MA 01915. The family would like to thank the staff at Putnam Farm for the loving care to Fran and comfort to the family.
