Obituary

Thomas Richard Campolini, 89 of Methuen, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover. Thomas was born in Methuen on September 15, 1926, the son of Ernest and Assunta (Egidio) Campolini. He was educated in Methuen schools and graduated from Searles High School.

Thomas proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He comes from a family of tailors. His father and brother were both tailors. He attended designing school in Boston, while working in several clothing factories in Lawrence. He worked at Papparella Bros, Bronsetti Clothing, and Grieco Bros. for many years until his retirement. He was a past president of Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America Local 187. In his free time, he enjoyed taking trips to the beach in the summer and trips to North Conway in the winter. He also liked to spend time with his family and friends.

Thomas will be deeply missed by his 2 sons, Ernest Campolini and his wife, Linda of Seabrook, NH and Thomas Campolini, Jr. and his wife, Cathy of Methuen; 2 daughters, Beverly Poulin and her husband, Lee of Atkinson, NH and Ann Camuso and her husband, Howard, Jr. of Methuen; his brother, Ernest Campolini of Methuen; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Mary I. Campolini, and 2 sisters, Lena Carrozza and Elvira Trafficante.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Thomas’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 AM at St. Lucy’s Church in Methuen. Burial will follow at St. Mary / Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
