Marjorie Melisi, 77, of Salem, NH, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 16, 1938 in Hanover, NH a daughter to the late Kenneth and Luella (Allard) Wilson. She was a resident of Salem, NH for many years. She grew up in Maine and graduated from Hartford High School in Hartford, Vermont.
Marjorie was famous for her sewing, knitting and crocheting, especially when it came to sweaters. She had a passion for cooking and baking and enjoyed teaching others her skills. She enjoyed spending her time on skiing trips with her family, and selling Sarah Coventry jewelry. She deeply enjoyed shopping or anything fashion related. She also was an avid reader, a passion she shared with her two sisters. Marjorie will be remembered as being unique and having an outward personality. She was especially skilled in verbal communications. Marjorie will be remembered lovingly as “Bumma.” She was a member St. Laurence O’Toole parish in Lawrence, MA.
She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Melisi and her husband Brett Ellis, and Terri Melisi-Bean and her wife Jean; two sisters, Helen Daher and Glenna Brooks; six grandchildren, Joseph Bean and his wife Kristina, Robert bean, Danielle Kiley, Sinèa Kiley, Rachel Pokorney and Cairnie Pokorney; two great-grandchildren, Felicia Woodward and Troy Bean; Several nieces and nephews including her favorite niece Tami Hartley, her longtime companion, Donald Greene and his sons Donald Greene Jr. and his wife Mary Angela and Michael Greene, along with many beloved friends and family. Marjorie is pre deceased by her daughter, Donna Melisi-Kiley.
Following cremation, a memorial service was held on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Donna’s Dreamers Foundation, in the care of Sinèa Kiely, 22 Blake Rd. Salem, NH
