Obituary

Sophie I. (Indyk-Savard) Orlow age 100, of Natick known as “Nana” to all, passed away peacefully at the home of her grandson on Sunday December 6, 2015.

Born in Lowell in 1914 Sophie was daughter of the late John and Apolonia (Wyzka) Indyk. She was the wife of the late Louis Savard and the late Nickolas Orlow. She was also predeceased by a son Louis Andre Savard, a sister and five brothers.

Sophie was a proud resident of Natick for 75 years. She was employed by the H. Harwood and Son’s baseball factory in Natick for 34 years as a supervisor and baseball stitcher, retiring in 1976. Sophie had a very strong work ethic and continued to work as a nanny for another 20 years.

During her retirement Sophie enjoyed traveling to Florida, listening to Polka music and spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed Friday night card games with her neighborhood friends and trips to the Casino.

Sophie is survived by one daughter, Pauline Saunders and her husband Jim of Marlborough, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Friday December 11 at 9:00 A.M. from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Patrick’s Church at 10:00 A.M.

Visiting hours are Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.

Interment St Joseph Cemetery Chelmsford.
