Melvin D. Cravey, 65, of Fitzgerald, died Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Arbor Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge and the Rev. Sonny Pate officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Cravey was born March 20, 1950, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Claxton Cravey and the late Evelyn Roberts Cravey Royal. A 1969 graduate of Fitzgerald High School, Mr. Cravey was a long-time farmer. He enjoyed fishing and wood-working. He was a member of Arbor Baptist Church and attended the Young-at-Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Sherrie Cravey; step-children: Jennifer & Jonathan Glass, William & Juliana Hinks, and Jamie & Cheltzi Hinks, all of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Hayden, Alexis, and Cade Glass, and Liana and Gracyn Hinks; and three brothers: Willie & Julie Cravey, Andy & Gina Royal and Victor Royal, all of Fitzgerald.
