Kathe Trutschel Croy, 80, of Tifton passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Peace Lutheran Church in Tifton with Rev. Earl Steffens officiating. Ms. Croy will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 8, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born September 14, 1935 in Bamberg, Germany, Ms. Croy was the daughter of the late Georg Trutschel and Anna Lindner Trutschel. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. She retired from the Holiday Inn and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Tifton. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary at VFW Post 5250; enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting afghans for her family. She loved to travel and spend time with her family.
Ms. Croy is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Guenther Dean and Donna Croy of Valdosta, Thomas Croy of Valdosta and William and Kim Croy of Tifton; a daughter, Caroline Croy and her special friend, Nelson Griffin of Tifton; three sisters, Marianne Meyer of Bamberg, Germany, Bridgette Wright of Cleveland, Ohio and Hannelore Harris of Ashland, Oregon; six grandchildren, John Croy, Sarah Croy Phelps, Ashley Croy Parish, Whitney Croy Everidge, Loren Croy and Jaxson Croy; and two great-grandchildren, Conner Parish and Jacob Phelps.
