Obituary

Joseph G. Brine Sr., a life long resident of Woburn, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on December 2, 2015. Joe was the beloved husband of Marguerite M. (McKee) and a loving father to his late son James L. Brine. Joe was born in North Woburn to the late Charles and Marguerite (Gillis) Brine. He was raised and educated in Woburn where he attended Woburn Schools. Shortly following school Joe enlisted in the United States Navy and was a veteran of WWII proudly serving for six years spending the majority of his time in the South Pacific aboard the US Louisville.

Joe met his future wife Margie at Barney Callahan's in Woburn Center. They married in 1949 and resided in Woburn. They soon started a family and were blessed with three sons and a daughter. Throughout their marriage they enjoyed spending time at the beach and later at his in-laws pool where many a summer was enjoyed together.

Joe worked as an elevator constructer as a legacy to his father. Joe worked in almost every building in Boston. After 40 years, Joe was the City of Newton Elevator Inspector until his retirement in 1990. In his retirement with the help of his brother-in-law, Richard Carner, he added an addition to the family home, a kitchen and dining room. Something his wife Margie would have loved. Unfortunately, she passed away before completion. Margie would have loved it!
