LOWELL - Robert Leo Clement, age 84, a lifelong city resident and retired Wang Laboratory employee, died peacefully on Thursday morning, December 3, at Lowell General Hospital, after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Claudette J. (Texiera) Clement, with whom he had celebrated a fifty-eighth wedding anniversary this past October 9th.
He was born in Lowell in July 1931, the only child of Leo J. and Mildred A. (Ciesla) Clement. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
He retired from Wang Laboratories where he had worked in electronic assembly.
Bob loved time spent in his yard and garden, was an avid fan of Boston’s professional sports teams, especially the Bruins and Patriots, and had bowled in both Saba’s Bowling League, and the Lafayette Bowling League.
Besides his wife, he leaves four children, Lynn A. McMannus and her husband John of Spencer, MA, Robert J. Clement and his life partner Judy Snedeker of Lowell, Kimberlee M. Dunn and her husband Richard of Newbury, MA, and Tracy S. Clement of Dracut; seven grandchildren, Crystal Brown of Spencer, Ashlee Kehoe of Pepperell, Joseph Clement of Lowell, Richard Dunn of Newbury, Nicholas Dunn of Newbury, Shannon Michaud of New Ipswich, NH; several great grandchildren; and was predeceased by his grandson, Jacob Brown.
Memorial Visiting Hours Sunday, Dec. 6, from 1:00 until 3:30 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950.
